Artisan woodturner
As a passionate woodturner and arborist, I fell the trees I turn myself to ensure ethical felling, carried out according to best practices to offer the best of each wood. I only fell trees that are slated for removal from private properties or have fallen naturally, giving them a second life and maximizing the incredible potential that nature offers us.
Since I was a child, people have told me that I want to do too many things, that I want to go too fast, that I think too much, that I ask too many questions. And yet, I've always been in search of answers and understanding the world around me.
As a farmer's son, I earned my agricultural management and operations degree, which seemed like a logical progression. But my thirst to discover the world was not quenched. I then obtained my heavy vehicle licenses and came to settle in Savoie. It was a job that I saw as a "cushy number" that allowed me to dream of wide-open spaces through my truck window. However, I needed more, to undertake something that, in my opinion, had meaning. So I resigned to find the path that truly inspired me.
In 2019, it clicked! I tried my hand at woodturning, and it was love at first sight, a passion, a vocation. Naturally, I trained here and there to learn all the intricacies of the trade. I met Peter Pan Bois, then L'atelier Trois petits tours, both of whom played a key role in my professionalization process.
And here I am, finally ready to dive into the world of craftsmanship. This is how "L'atelier tour après tour" was born. Bearing a name that resonates like a mantra within me. Thinking of the child I was; who I still am and who continues to want to create and live life at 100 miles an hour, one foot on the brake, the other on the accelerator…
Day after day, turn after turn,
Dany, woodturner
